With a name that means “bear” in Old Norse, Bjorn embodies the Viking values of boldness and connection, infusing them into every loaf we create.

Bjorn’s journey began in Germany, where he mastered traditional European baking techniques. But his passion for bread took him further—across continents and cultures—blending flavors inspired by his time in Bulgaria, New Zealand, and beyond. Each product we offer is a celebration of heritage, a connection to the past, and a tribute to Bjorn’s belief that “to share bread is to share life.”

Our Journey

From Hiking Trails to Your Table

Norse Bread was born out of Bjorn’s travels and his unwavering connection to his Viking ancestry. From the forests of Germany to the mountains of New Zealand, Bjorn discovered that bread is more than sustenance—it’s a symbol of community and shared experiences. During his adventures, he baked bread for 40 people at a campsite, met an Italian traveler who reminded him that “to share bread is to share life,” and realized that baking was his calling.

Inspired by his name and his Norse roots, Bjorn combined centuries-old breadmaking traditions with flavors discovered on his travels. Each loaf is a tribute to the Viking spirit of exploration, blending the hearty craftsmanship of his ancestors with bold, innovative flavors. Today, Norse Bread brings this adventurous energy to every table, delivering breads that connect the past to the present.
